Getting Results from Your Solar Returns
featuring Melanie Joy
Solar returns have been used as a forecasting technique in Western astrology for over 1200 years, and they can provide so much information about your astrological year (from one birthday to the next). However, many astrologers are still not employing this predictive technique in an appropriate way or to its fullest capabilities. Using real life client examples, Astrologer Melanie Joy will share her fine-tuned methods for getting your solar return predictions bang-on. She’ll also impart some advice on revolutions from astrological giant Morin de Villefranche.
Melanie Joy has been studying astrology for nearly 20 years and seeing clients for over 12 years. She’s a certified graduate and teacher through the Canadian Astrological Association for Education (CAAE), a former CAAE board member, has a Diploma in Horary Astrology from the School of Traditional Astrology, and has lectured across Canada and the U.S. for organizations such as Kepler College (2021), ISAR (2022), AFAN (2022), NCGR (2016), Astrology Niagara (2020), Astrology Toronto (2013, 2021) and the Canadian Astrology Conference (2021).
Her approach to astrology is a blend of modern Western techniques, traditional techniques, and a heavy dose of 17th century astrology based on the methods of Jean Baptiste Morin de Villefranche. She also believes strongly in chart rectification and puts a lot of time (and heart) into her clients to ensure their birth times are bang on.
A former college writing teacher, career advice writer, communications specialist and singer-songwriter, Melanie hold a Master’s degree in Professional Writing and Communications. Her latest astrological adventure is founding and leading a local astrology group in southern Ontario, Canada—Astrology Niagara.

Astrological Remediation
featuring Jane Sloan
Much of our study in astrology is in interpreting the natal chart to discover where the gifts and challenges will play out in the native’s life. It is easy to encourage the aspects of ourselves that relate to our talents, gifts and natural tendencies, but what can we do for the areas of struggle or where we experience limitations and hardship? In this workshop we will explore various ways to strengthen the weak muscles in the chart and support challenging transits that come to stay for extended periods of time. I will share with you useful, practical and easy tools – through food, herbs, gems and ritual to gain new strength and open areas of consciousness and connection with all aspects of ourselves.
Jane Sloan is an astrologer, nutritionist and energy worker who has been integrating various healing modalities for over 20 years, adding astrology to her resources the past 8 years. Her client work has naturally gravitated to working with the emotional and psychological patterns that affect health and wellness. Jane serves on the board for Astrology Toronto.

Pluto in Aquarius: Idealism and the Masses
featuring Wendy Guy
Pluto goes into Aquarius in March 2023 and spends almost 20 years there before finally going into Pisces in 2044. What happened when Pluto was there in the past? And now, after spending some 15 years in corporate Capricorn since 2008, what might we expect from Pluto in eccentric, idealistic Aquarius? In this lecture we’ll look at patterns, themes and cycles that are likely to unfold over the next 2 decades.
Like any good card-carrying Gemini rising, Wendy Guy has juggled many hats over the 50+ years since she first fell in love with astrology: astrological counselor, teacher, mentor, writer, lecturer and webmaster. She has been a long-time lecturer for Astrology Toronto, the SOTA Astrology Conference, and the 2019 Canadian Astrology Conference.
